Alissa R. Long, O.D. earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology at Doane College in Nebraska and her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN. She completed a refractive and cataract surgery care rotation at Omaha Eye and Laser Institute in Omaha, NE. This was followed by a second private practice rotation emphasizing specialty contact lenses at Becherer, Becherer and Assoc. in Belleville, IL.
Dr. Long previously practiced in Georgia before relocating to Delaware. She fits specialty contact lenses including toric lenses for astigmatism and lenses for corneal diseases such as keratoconus and pellucid marginal degeneration. Dr. Long offers flexible patient hours including evening and Saturday appointments. In addition, Dr. Long treats patients with eye emergencies in the Smyrna, Dover and West Dover locations.
Originally from the Omaha, NE area Dr. Long resides in Newark, DE where she is very active in her community. Dr. Long enjoys spending time with her family and friends, as well as with her 16-year-old dog Rebel. Dr. Long enjoys outdoor activities such as running and softball, and enjoys reading when she has spare time.
