Matthew J. Schaedler, O.D. earned his undergraduate degree in biological sciences from the University of Delaware. He then attended the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, Illinois and completed a second bachelors degree in visual sciences as well as his Doctorate in Optometry. Additional training was performed in the management of glaucoma, retinal disorders, and pre and post operative management of cataract and LASIK patients during rotations through The Wilkes Barre VA Medical Center in Wilkes Barre, PA and the Illinois Eye Institute in Chicago, IL. In 2012 Dr. Schaedler was one of the first optometrists in Delaware to complete the board certification process and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry.
Dr. Schaedler performs comprehensive primary care ocular examinations and fits contact lenses for all types of prescription needs including multifocal and astigmatism lenses. He also manages ocular disease including dry eye management, diabetes screenings, glaucoma, macular degeneration and ocular allergies and provides pre and post-operative care for cataract and refractive surgery procedures.
Originally from Northern Maryland, Dr. Schaedler resides in Delaware with his wife and children and has practiced in the area for 15 years.
